WHAT'S FOAM?

OncoPods is based on the philosophy of FOAM - Free Open Access Meducation.

FOAM was born in the world of critical and emergency medicine. Two doctors Mike Cadogan and Chris Nickson, (lifeinthefastlane.com (LITFL)), recognised that social media has changed communication and education as ideas now traverse the globe in seconds, allowing unprecedented interaction and openess to how we learn and practice medicine.

Another Doctor,  Joe Lex stated that "If you want to know how we practiced medicine five years ago, read a textbook. If you want to know how we practiced medicine two years ago, read a journal. If you want to know how we practice medicine now, go to a (good) conference. If you want to know how we will practice medicine in the future, listen in the hallways and use FOAM."

FOAM can be from all digital mediums as long as they are free for everyone.
#FOAMed is the conversation on Twitter.

We want to bring FOAM to Oncology. Get involved.
